We work a lot with the University of Canterbury - we usually have an intern supporting our mahi from the Health Sciences department - we provide UC with some lecture time and they provide us with expertise… Last year one of our Sparkly team members also moved across to join them too.

In a recent meeting, they told us about some of their mahi around relationships and sexual health education. When we watched the video we were super impressed with the whole school approach on display at Beckenham School. They’ve taken an important stance to support tamariki gender and it’s really inspiring.

As part of the video parents, kaiako, the principal, other team members and tamariki all talk about why the new focus is important.

Beautifully captured here by the Ministry of Education.

So good!
